Siliconchip magazine had something like this around a year or so ago.
I have a water tank on the hill I can barely see with binoculars where the float indicator is .
I would like to build something that would run on small batteries and when I push a button on the transmitter turns on the tank unit which reads the level ,transmits it back to the receiver and then switches fully off.
The receiver needs an LED meter to give a digital percentage of full ,eg 50% empty.
Then turns fully off
Anybody seen one or can make any suggestions. Needs to work for me at about a kilometer line of sight. Lot of transmitters for remotes are only 100 meters so they would need elaborate antennas each end.

For the w/less side of things get onto Elsema 0296094668
They have a large range of radio stuff for data transmission as well as multi chan relay o/p receivers. The 151Mhz gear is suposed to be good for 6Km line of site with excellent noise immunity. I have used a number of these without any issues, although The furthest range I have required is about 800m
This looks like my start point -Jaycar Kit of Silicon chips unit
Go last one first then backwards sorry
about $100 to start + another $80 but better than I could do
Looks a lot like the one I linked you up to from silicon chip lol.
or you could buy a cheap ebay wireless camera.
you might have to scrounge, build some easy antennas.
What happens if I press alt + F4?
Yes thats a thought rob916 thanks
