Multiswitches are used for C-Band too.
Hi guys,
Could someone please advise me if it is possible to connect more than 1 decoder to a CBand fixed position dish.
I know with Ku band we can use multiswitches however is there anything similar for Cband ??
Reason being is i have a decoder in the living room and one in the bedroom which i would like to connect to it.

Multiswitches are used for C-Band too.
thankyou mtv.
the multiswtches are they the same because on ku band I am using dual lnb can I get a multiswitch for a single lnb for cband.

You only need a dual output LNB to give you both polarities independently (which I recommend).
You can use a single polarity LNB if all decoders only require the same polarity.... eg: all transponders are vertical, or all horizontal.

ok thanks guys I will go online and get a dual cband lnb. Any particular brand you would recommend.
Also should I be looking out for any particular type for example ku band you have 10700 and 11300 HD Ready etc.... is cband similar or is there just one type 5150.

The conventional local oscillator (LO) frequency of a C-band LNB(F) is 5150MHz (5.15GHz).
There is another type of C-band LNB which is referred to as "single cable solution". This typehas two LO frequencies - 1550MHz for vertical polarity and 2050MHz for horizontal polarity. Do not buy this type.
Buy instead the 5150MHz LO type such as the dual output LNB at or or .
A word of warning ... when comparing LNB's, don't get too hung up on quoted noise figures. They can be quite misleading as manufacturers often cite noise figures measured under totally different conditions thus making accurate comparison impossible (See my post #5 at ).

Hi guys I have decided to go with one of your recommendations which is either the Odrok Twin Output C Band LNBF or the SuperMax Twin Output C Band LNB Dual Polarity
I ended up buying the SuperMax Twin Output C Band LNB Dual Polarity
It will also be connected to a multiswitch so multiple recievers have access.
any recommendations on a multiswich please it will be going to 5 recievers.
will the standard 6 - 8 port spaun multiswitch which I use on ku band be ok or do I need something different
thankyou in advance and cheers

You will require a multiswitch which provides at least one input for the C-band dish and as many outputs as the number of receivers required (in this case 5, as stated).
It is possible of course, to connect C-band and Ku-band systems (dishes) to the same multiswitch, provided it has the (input and output) capacity and if reception of both bands is required on all receivers.
Multiswitches intended for satellite use are suitable for both Ku-band and C-band (as MTV has already intimated).
There are many different brands of multiswitches but Spaun are well-regarded.

Thankyou for that info. I will use my spare spaun multiwitch it has the v and h inputs at the front and 6 outputs on the side
Cheers
