Upgrade account via Paypal

Hi All

Been here on and off. 10+ years.

Lived through the austech HDD crash and etc.

A little pissed off. I just tried to renew / upgrade my membership again as I do each year.

And I get…

“You just set up an automatic payment profile”

NO. I just tried to pay $20 for one year.

After 40 minutes and a number of emails I now get

“Your recurring payment has been cancelled”

Austech. You will probably receive emails from paypal as well.

Why can’t you be happy with a once off payment each year?

Maybe you should have read before paying:

PLEASE NOTE - Subscriptions marked with * will automatically renew at the end of the subscription period.These are recurring subscriptions which will automatically debit your Paypal account the Premium Membership amount each year automatically. If you wish to manually pay each year via the link on the toolbar , select the option without the *.

I cant see where you are coming from? where is Austech the problem? simply the problem is you didnt read before jumping in and paying, everything is in bold and cant be missed, nothings changed still all the same to me

I think you can disable the auto payments in your Paypal account settings.

Nothing is changed. The system is exactly the same as it always has been.

Thanks for your complaint to paypal. Much appreciated. Obviously it was far too hard to contact us directly with your issue.

As you have now locked your $20 up in a complaint and it cant be accessed, we cant make you any refund.

It amazes me how people deal with issues they have. Why would you make a thread in the introduction forum when you could simply click on the contact us link? Unbelievable.

Well, I logged in to have a look at this complaint and deal with it. Here is part of his complaint :

As he wants to call me a bully and tells me to #### off, his money has been refunded and his account at Austech has been permanently terminated.


And just to note, I have checked our payment system and there is nothing wrong with it. His posted screenshot of course doesnt show the drop down menu selection of different options.

I wouldnt have refunded not after that snotty email, he fukked it up, cleary the guy is a impulse buyer that doesnt read the print, his own fault I would have billed him another $20

He has emailed me about this and despite me explaining to him what he has done (he obviously hasnt worked out there is a drop down box with different options) he just doesnt get it. In fact, I have informed him 3 times that nothing has changed, we are not forcing him to have an ongoing subscription etc, but he still doesnt understand.

A bit of a unique situation.......he isnt being rude or anything, just fails to comprehend that no one is out to screw him. As mentioned I have attempted to explain it several times but he doesnt seem to understand.

Does anyone know this user? If he was just an outright arsehole I would leave things as they are as I am not here for people to abuse me when they make a mistake, but its concerning that I cant get him to understand what he has done.
