*Please Share* WAR MEDALS STOLEN FROM JUNEE, NSW | It's understood between the hours of 09:00am Friday April 19 and 09:00pm Saturday April 20, a person or number of persons had gained entry to a Wardle Street home in Junee and stole numerous items which included five Australian Commonwealth Military Force medals. Engraved on the back of each medal is 'CJ Barclay NX35216'. The medals consist of;
1) 1939-45 Star
2) Africa Star (with 8th Army Clasp)
3) Australian Service Medal 1939-45
... 4) War Medal 1939-45
5) Defence Medal
A number of other items were also stolen, including two leather dog tags with the same engraving as above, a silver antique El Alamien brooch, a cigar in a silver cigar capsule, Italian Rosary Beads from Rome and an amount of ladies as men's jewellery.
Police are seeking assistance from members of the public in the hope of locating the items. Please contact Wagga Police Station on 69222559 or Crime Stoppers on 1800333000.

Yes, ebay is the likely place.....at some stage.
They arent super valuable or anything, under $500, but they are something that is priceless if its a family group (sounds like it).
served in the 2/3 Pioneers so they are reasonably desirable from a collectors point of view. Nearly a million Australians served in WW2 and realistically not many served in an infantry role. The Pioneers were tradesman, who were also trained to drop tools and fight as infantry.
Its a pity there isnt honor in thieves these days, once upon a time a lot wouldnt take them out of respect.
