If everything you want is on the same polarity, then a splitter can work, but, it has more signal loss than a dual LNB and seperate cable runs, and if something changes, then extra cable will need to be run anyway.

If you are talking D1 or Is8 a splitter is fine if C1 or D2 only good if both boxes on horizontal or vertical if you want both you do need a twin LNB
It's hard to make a come back when I havn't been anywhere

Safest option would be a dual output lnb because of the signal loss with a splitter as mick mentioned and also having the freedom to play with diffrent polarity's on seperate receivers.

You would hate to lose your picture during rain regardless of which sat your locked on.

I don’t know what they are all talking about but if you have the boxes with lnb in and lnb out then as long as only one has the voltage on and the other off it’s fine. I myself have 4 boxes running at the same time to keep cards up to date and they work fine.

    G'Day Cobber,
You can't have two STBs controlling a single LNB.
You could have one controlling and the other slave following same polarity as the master STB.
You can use a Twin/dual polarity out with two cables, no switches needed.

Kindest Regards, " The Druid "...

If I use splitter to split signal into 2 stb, would it be their any big loss in signal? plz confirm. Other wise, I can go for Loop-out option from STB. I already have twin-port LNB to feed 2 STBS, this will be third on for PCI card (occational use, Master/slave set-up no problem)

    G'Day Cobber,
If you use the IF loop out, you will only get the same polarity as the first STB. You will not be able to select between H and V.

Sorry Mate, You didn't answer my question, Level of signal loss through 'Splitter' option. If significance loss then I shall definitely gor for Loop-out. plz confirm.

Master/slave situation of STBs set-up through IF loop-put give either H or V, Thats I know.

Yes you will get signal loss( probably 3+ db) with splitter(should be diplexer).
