Is there seriously a life for these game consoles anymore?

I would of thought mobile phone games/apps would of hurt it immensely, ie I can play my phone games whereever,

I want to know when it will be jtagged
mind you seems a bit harder to hack (maybe) because it has to make contact with m$ servers at least once a day
I guess you could spoof it into thinking it was hand shaking with the correct servers etc.

I guess that depends on what sort of gaming experience you're after. Personally, I prefer a big screen and wall shaking 5.1 sound. I also like for my kids to be able to join in the fun or entertain their friends when they visit. Then there's the games themselves, and the controls. Mobile gaming although a far cry from the good old days of the Nintendo hand helds, still isn't anything like console gaming.

touching and swiping will never take over the feeling of holding a real gaming control.

I'm actually excited for the new range of consoles, however I still can't decide if I should go with the Xbox One or the PS4; I think E3 will decide that for me.

If PS4 doesn't follow in the footsteps of Xbox one with having to connect to internet once every 24hrs just play your games + not being able to trade your games freely then I think many will go with PS4....not to mention PS4 has better h/w.

MS have really underwhelmed me, a crap name and a crap design - no imagination at all. Unless it gets hacked you wont see one near my TV.

Microsoft seemed to do everything wrong at E3. The price is too high, and the Kinect is included since there is only one package option. DRM and used game policy is definitely going to be talked about, with Microsoft being the "bad guy". Sony has already bantered at Microsoft with this video:

I don't think the Xbox One is going to sell good.

I agree, gamers wont buy it and there are media players for less than $100 that will kill it.

Microsoft have shot themselves in the foot so hard with the Xbone. I see no reason to buy it over the PS4 currently besides myself preferring the Xbox controller over the PS4 and sort of like the Halo series... but even with Halo I've lost interest of late and didn't even buy the latest one. Microsoft's going to need a miracle of marketing and some serious policy reversions if they want to compete with Sony this generation... but honestly I for one welcome our new Japanese overlords. I think they'll treat us better than the Microsoft. Just compare the Xbox Live service to that of the PS3. 1. It was free to play online. 2. PS+ kicked ass and had amazing benefits.

    Go Sony go.

One thing to note is that PS+ is necessary to play online games for the PS4 now. It's a bit of a sacrifice, but I'll take it in return for a cheaper console price, as well as all of the other things Sony shoved in Microsoft's face during E3.

I don't think I'm going to be getting it. After the E3 press conference I just think that they are really behind the PS4 and really I just don't think the Xbox One is going to be worth the money or frustration.

I definitely won't be getting the Xbox One when I have the option of purchasing the PS4. It's region free, able to play used games, doesn't force me to log online every 24 hours.....
