I have replaced my X3 with an X5. I having all sorts of trouble getting it to connect. I put in the details press ok to save. Power cycle the box, says network connected & blank screen. Can connect to YouTube etc. I can ping the box, the box can ping the IP of the PC etc. I would appreciate any assistance.

OOOPs looks like I jumped the gun last night. Thanks for your help last night, however when the box connects to my oscam server I get time out errors & the picture freezes every 10 seconds. Is there a setting that I missed ???
mrfish
hmmm is the server local? Every 10seconds sounds like an ecm latency issue!

It's odd how it's only in the morning. Does something happen on your network subnet early in the morning that the X5 is on? I'm not really an oscam person but the log shows a big delay. Is it only the one client?
Have you tried updating to the latest firmware?

I have 2 clients connected. One is connected directly through the network switch the one I am having trouble with goes through 2 network switches. I will run a cat5 tonight directly to the network switch. Strange how the X3 works perfectly on the same setup. I have installed the latest firmware one off the first things I tried
Finally had a chance to change to network cable over. No joy either still pauses. I did notice that while looking at the client setup it keep going online/offline every couple of seconds, this might explain the freezing. But whats causing this problem ??? Any ideas ?
Whilst I had a card in the X5 I experienced similar problems.
Removed the card and THAT problem solved.
Hi marty 17
There is no card in the slot. Might just use it as a FTA box if I cant get it sorted
I am experiencing problems loading Mgcamd and CCcam files by USB.
Any one else?
Had time to have a play today. Firstly I did a factory restore on the X5. Did a second restore. Upgraded the firmware as it told that there was a later version. Checked firmware version after the upgrade & the box that a later version available but it was the same version that is already installed. Maybe someone can test this & let us know it theirs does the same. However after mucking about trying to get it to connect I tried my old reliable silver card with Aurora details(while they last) as it had not been in a box for a couple of months. Inserted card & no pictures. Left card in for 3 hours & not updating. Broke out the faithful Humax put card in & pictures in a couple of minutes. Put card back in X5 & pictures. Went shopping with SWMBO for a few hours came home & bugger me no pictures. It looks like that X5 wont allow ECM/EMM's, unless there is a hidden menu to turn this on/off. Maybe leroypatrol can assist with this. I am thinking that either these boxes are a POS or just a glorified FTA receiver.

Do you have a dreambox as a client to keep the card updated? This is the best way to keep the card updated in your server. The X5 is fine as a client. Irdeto 1 is not really supported these days so I'm not surprised your silver aurora card doesn't update. An Iredto 2 card should be a different story.

Hi leroypatrol,
I am using a DM5600 as the server running oscam by ozir build 4100. What I am having trouble understanding is why the X3 worked faultlessly & the X5 freezes every few seconds. It could be a faulty receiver as well.
mrfish
it could be faulty but it's odd that it only happens in the morning.

It happens all the time. When you assisted me with some advice the other night I didn't wait long enough. Saw pictures & turned telly off.

so you're still using N line in cccam? I've tried this and it worked and this was because I tried Newcamd and couldn't get it to work. Maybe give this a go and report back.

Here's what I have done:
CCcam edit. Select No 1. Push edit. Select active server - server 1. Enter IP address. Enter port number. Enter user name. Enter password. Selected protocol as CCcam. Entered DESKey as 01 - 14. Pressed exit/save. Press ok to active details. Tick appears under Active. Under status it keeps changing from login to Off line.
Still freezes every few seconds. Check oscam webif & under LB Value/Reader not found against client details. Then the errors show what I have posted earlier.
