Sorry, I can't give you the exact answer as I never had the problem like you do.
Hello,
My old Tom Tom 1 has a problem were the onscreen keyboard is not in sync with the key presses.....
Looking a a qwerty keyboard layout, if I touch say an "A", a "Z" is entered, this is the sam for all presses.
Its like it needs calibration????
I have reset it to factory defaults but this made no difference.
I couldnt see a config setting for this sort of thing.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Porkop

It is often faster, easier and less frustrating to order a replacement digitiser off Ebay.
With a bit of shopping around you get them for under 20$.
Tomtom GO730 ,Navcore 9.004 ,Bootloader 5.5256 ,Map :Australia 845.2661ttmaps and Tomplayer on 16GB SDHC class6Password for all my files: downunder
Thanks for that. Had a quick read, will digest it a little later, but on the surface it seems like a rather complicated method that could be achieved with an application!
I works with some WinCE devices a few years ago and on intialisation they started with a screen calibration routine which consisted of touching a cross hair marker in each corner of the screen and then the centre and the touch screen was calibrated.
Pity there is not a Tom Tom app like that.
