AB IPBOX 9000 HD or 900 HD, anyone buying or have these STB?

Seems DG Station has a sub-company running as ABcom

They have a bunch of STB's, the two of interest for me seem to be the AB IPBOX 9000 HD and AB IPBOX 900 HD, as they seem to be in direct competion with the DM8000 (if it ever gets here) and DM800.

They seem to almost be a touch better than the Dreamboxes too.....
Although third party firmware will not be as strong and this has been the major down fall of other linux based boxes that have come along before.

Seems with the advent of a few HD channels around that boxes like these will become more popular over here in Oz, and the promise it can play Divx in future will appeal to some.

I believe a member here is bringing in the DM800 and DM8000???

But wondered if any members were looking at other boxes like these?
The Remote Control and OSD seem very user friendly and more like a retail box. Very similar OSD to the current Poxtel boxes infact.

nice looking unit with its ability, the dual tuner + hdmi + divx playback making it very attractive

Its pricey, but its one I'll be going for - see the 'PLUS' version, I think it is.

Should be an interesting learning curve mebber, but also simply consumer-capable.

there is no support for cccam and enigma for these boxes... so as far as i can see it will be another katherin ufs910... top box not selling because it lacks the support that the dreambox has..
I was actually contemplating buying a 900HD but changed my mind when i looked at the software available for the box
Even if there is a rumor that the new cccam 3.0 will support these boxes i still believe it will never happen

Thanks pit5bul, yeah i was reading the lack of Ccam support this week (after i posted this thread).... Bloody sad really.

Looks like DM800 and maybe the DM8000 if it ever appears into the real world!

I have yet to see any confirmation that the new fox HD service using the orange card, even works in any of the currently available third party HD boxes.

Some of the members here, have the new 800 dreambox units with the Hd service but either it does not work in these boxes, or they are keeping things to themselves.

I have the Kathrein unit mentioned above. Works well as a client using mgcamd, off a newcs server.
