    Default Universal Remote

Looking for a universal remote control for the dreambox. I have noticed this one on ebay and was wondering will this work with the dreambox? Remember seeing somewhere that it has to support over 100khz. Is this correct?

I purchased two of them before. I found the learn function to be very buggy. You could only learn one device or it would stuff up. Also as I had two of them one stopped working completely so I just decided to take them both back. But you are right for $15 they are cheap (/ nasty)

I have purchased a universal remote from bigw for $39. It seems to learn the dreambox remote but then when you try to use it the dreambox does not respond. Besides that it is a great remote. Learn function is excellent. All keys all device can be learnt, so must have a large memory. Although the double your money back guarantee is a bit of a rip!
I use this remote in the bedroom. Still need one for the lounge room (dreambox located). If anyone has another suggestion

    I recommend the "one-for-all" range
especially the ones with JP1 pins in the back that can be programmed
whole world of stuff there see
I personally have a pair of urc 8910 and a pair of urc 7562
both run dreams and everything else

Go for the Harmony 525 or 550 great units, a bit slow on channel changes but
they can do so much more than most uni remotes.

Another one for the harmony 525. Great remote and good telephone support, had trouble configuring one of my devices and the guy did it over the phone and was able to download it via the web, great stuff

I also have a Tevion, yes a little troublesome when learning, you may need to try again on some functions but once in works well.

I use it for my DM500, LG plasma, Onyko surround reciever, dvd and sony video player.

Considering the extent of what is controlling i think its a great unit for $15.

Codes list of what is supported without needing to learn is here.

I would go with conan_oz with the Harmony remotes at least they are fun to play with

With the direct learning remotes a lot of people don't set them up right the 1st time

When teaching the commands they seem to hold down the original remote keys way to long instead of just using it like normal.

I hope that makes sense LOL

I have one of these....f*cking brilliant.....use it for every device I have, including the Dream 7000. I don't use it for the 500 clones though...I think there is a problem with them.

    Cheers
