Actually nothing except a poor choice of words.
To me a 'Reactivation' would be if you had a STB that has had the card deactivated either because of non use or its been sold where as as a 'Re hit' is just get the system to send the needed details to the STB because it missed the daily update.

Default OTA UEC 4121 Ver 65

Hi Guys, I have had lock up problems with the 4121. It would not complete the boot sequence. This morn I see after power up that an OTA was taking place with 199 partitions. It showed Ver 65. Has anyone else noticed a recent OTA for 4121 and if so what Ver is the box now ?

    DSD info shows ; SW 2.4 - 15407 ; Sept 1 2014 @ 13.49

    Cheers

Hmm, thanks Hos, I haven't powered my 4121 on for a month or so. Guess I'd better so it updates.

The 4639 was updated last month as well, I only knew it happened thanks to transit, the update for the 4639 is dated 23/9/14

Yeah my 4121 is doing the OTA update now. Right in the middle of the missus watching her show. HAHHAHHA

HW VER 53, SIG VER 65, Load VER 65, Variant 287 on the screen.

So it triggered itself to instal?

That's weird as when I powered mine up, nothing happened, so I selected the upgrade from the menu.
Guess if I'd given it more time it would have self triggered eventually.

When I checked on Tuesday this week the update had happened automatically without my knowledge

The STB's were turned on & in standby mode (all the time)

I have noticed the new software upgrade now makes the PVR remote control able to be used with a Non PVR Activated STB on the DSD 4121

Previously I needed to use the Standard Remote Control on the DSD 4121 to access the Menu etc .... (on the Non - PVR Activated STB's)

Note: it is still a Non-PVR Activated STB (Standard STB) ..... will not record programs ..... just the PVR remote is now compatible with the Standard STB functions

Yes it started itself. I powered the box on and about 30mins later the download started.

Cool, my patience wasn't that long that day, I only waited 10 mins before activating manually. Good to know it gets to all boxes eventually.

Bugger if you're in the middle of watching something important.

    Regards,
Thanks Softek2 for that. I just remembered having saved the power supply of the pre-VAST UEC model with its 3.3V, 5V and 12V supply. My recent post is the one with the 'bE 1' code, which now has disappeared. Although UEC believes this is a flash memory problem I believe it is the power despite the fact that the USB HD flashes happily, so the 5V supply should be OK?

Question: Being at the end of a power line also could it be a problem with the 3.3V or 12V side? Also I cannot flash the memory any more. Pulling card out and pushing it in and 'Reset' does not help either.

    Help!

    Regards,
    Hi,

As you have a black belt in electrickery you may be able to help me. This is what may have happened to mine. My DSD4121 PVR Ready has 3.3, 5 and 12V lines as written on the power board but does not tell me which lines are supposed to be which voltage; there are a total of 7 cables to the sat board.
There are six white cables and one black. I call the black one No. 1.

    Black and no. 2 (Gnd) = 15V??
    Cable 3 and 4 (Gnd) = 10.42V??
    Cable 3 and 5 (Gnd) = 10.45V??
    Cable 4 and 5 = 0V
    Cable 4 (Gnd) and 6 = 3.33V
    Cable 4 (Gnd) and 7 = 3.33V

Looks like two 3.3V lines are OK and I would be able to follow them to the pins on the sat board.
Problem is the 12V (is it supposed to be 15V?) and the missing 5V line.

Tall order: Would you know which voltages are expected on the 10-pin header on the sat board? There the outermost white line is marked '1'.

    Thanks.
