Unfortunately, chrismurphy hasn't visited Austech since 7 July last year.

    Hopefully, someone else can help.

    Default Smoke on start up

    Hi Chris,
Just stumbled on the forum -- hoping you're still around.

    I have a 2000 Eunos 800M ... just over 160k on it.
    1. Quite a lot of smoke on start up -- worse when hasn't been run for several days

    2. Sometimes runs a dream / other times is quite 'rough' -- most likely vacuum line issues I think.

Any suggestions on either of these points?

    cheers!

Your smoke at startup is due to the seals on the supercharger
oil is pulled through when running and accumulates in the rotors and the inter coolers
You will need a new supercharger sorry to say see
When you mean quiet rough be be more specific

Hi Chris, I have similar problems with my 2000 Eunos 800M. I understand that the supercharger would need to be sent over to USA for reconditioning. What about the rest of the engine which has done 180k kms. Would you also recommend an overhaul such as seals, hoses etc. Is this a job for any experienced mechanic or would you recommend someone who knows these vehicles? If so, are there any such experienced mechanics in the Sydney region that you could recommend?
