Depending on what you want to receive you will need to budget at least $400 just for a receiver, dish, LNB, Cable, connector(s) and mast unless your going to buy them yourself.
Hi peepz,
I'm interested in getting a satellite dish installed onto my house, are there any members which are willing to do it for a reasonable fee of course?
cheers.

Hi nixtaz,
You can just left click on my user name and select Private Message.
This thread should really be in the BST section if you are seeking to pay for professional installation, but the info may help others considering what you wish to achieve.
You've mentioned you wish to receive both Optus D1 and IS19.
Are you planning on installing a motorised dish, or a single dish with two separate LNB's and a DiSEqC switch?
Hi mtv,
Sorry for not posting in the correct section, I'm a noobie
If its possible to have a single dish with two LNB's and a DiSEqC switch? And if that is not possible, then probably two separate 90cm dishes?
Thanks,
Nick
Either will work Nick, although separate dishes will have better performance as you can optimise signal for both LNB's, compared to a single dish with two LNB's where LNB placement is a compromise.
Having said that, with a single 90cm dish, signals are generally fine from those two sats on a double-LNB setup.
Because you would have two separate LNB's, you will require a DiSEqC switch regardless of whether the LNB's are both together on a single dish, or on separate dishes.
If the LNB's are only feeding a single tuner on one decoder in one location (eg: single wall outlet in one room) then a DiSEqC switch is fine.
If you require more outlets, dual output LNB's can be used with two DiSEqC switches, but a multiswitch is the preferred method.
Thanks for the prompt reply mtv, much appreciated! So a better option for me would be two dishes with DiSEqC switch as it's only going to one outlet.
Would you happen to know anyone who would be able to install the dishes for me?
hmmmmm....
If you want the absolute best-possible result... two separate dishes will provide that, but two LNB's on a single 90cm dish will work fine.
Do I know an installer?
Professional installers who work in your area, apart from myself..... no I don't, but there may be some Austech 'hobbyist' members who are quite capable and competent.
Roger that
