Hi guys,
It has been a while since I have posted, but I am after some help.
My parents have been using a Strong SRT 4658X to receive the FTA feeds still available on Intelsat 19 (TV Plus).
I know they might encrypt anytime. I know they still get RIK Sat Video/Audio, Ert Audio and 4E Audio only.
So I presume ERT and 4E have gone Mpeg 4.
So am after a HD DVB-S2 MPEG4 receiver to recieve these two stations.
I do want to buy a box similar to the Strong with Blind Scan, a Cam and Card Slot and associated features.
But I am interested in Dreamboxes / Openboxes and their versatility to connect through LAN to a computer/internet.
Price is a concern, but I am open to suggestion, either a bare bone box just to receive FTA, to a box that can be
used with whiteys.
Any suggestions from the experts eg) LeroyPatrol, beer4Life, weirdo, aaeron.1, mtv, admin and the like would be great.
Willing to buy a box from them. I am in Melbourne.
Thanks
Harry

Whiteys are history. You needed an IRDETO 2 box when they were the rage.
Thanks beer4life,
I understand about whiteys, used one in the Strong 4658X, for a few months until they were stopped, not falling for that again, nothing is free these days, as they say.
Thanks Guys
Any more tips for a HD DVB-S2 MPEG4 receiver.
Maybe one that is under $100.00 that is bare bone, but at least will do Blind Scan.

If the Broadcasters are changing over to MPEG 4 I am wondering how long will it be before they tighten up their encryption systems to match that of VAST and Foxtel ?
It just seems stupid to be expending money to convert over to HD Digital/Mpeg4 and not recouping that cost from all the viewers because their encryption is out of date.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
Thanks gordon_s1942,
Thats why I am leaning towards a bare bone HD DVB-S2 MPEG4 receiver to just receive FTA since TV Plus might fully encrypt anytime. And I will have to find another FTA satellite.
Anyone know of good FTA HD DVB-S2 MPEG4 receiver with Blind Scan for under $100.
Thanks
Harry
Openbox S9 or S10 maybe?
Get S9 rather than the later openboxes if you can IMHO
Any of them will do the trick. I reckon the blindscan was a little quicker on the S9/s10 compared to the X3/X5. The S9/10 have a card slot and cam slot where as the X3/5 only have a card slot.
