idiot.
Funniest thing I've read in ages.
"hard to tell from the photo but have you got these or something similar between the motherboard and the case?
No, I don't. But at the same time, it doesn't matter any more. ITS FRIED!! LOL!
but i am still working on computer 1. Still no monitor.."
A classic!
He's unstoppable
the very FIRST pc i built i didnt use the risers...hubby walked in just as I was about to boot it and stopped me .lol..i was a newbie after all...what was i to now.lol
That was so many years ago and its a lesson I will always remember and not make that mistake again...
Electronic equipment / components needs smoke to operate . If you see smoke it wont work any more because the smoke has leaked out.
You mean whingepool! It's the only place i know which has a greater aggregation of childish wankers than ocau.
Though, in this case, the dude's an absolute champion!
Cheers, RHCP.
Democracy: Three wolves and a sheep voting on what's for lunch.
Someone is claiming you can do it with Gigabyte motherboards but not Asus.
I think not doing it at all would have been the better option ?
I'm sure you could install a motherboard without risers, just not into a normal case
ahaha z80's reply
He/she is giving it a go, I reckon thats good. Thats probably 1 post for every hundred people that do the same.
PC kit is a consumer item now, its cheap enough to make mistakes.
Putting on my old farts hat, I can remember when 8086 and 286 systems were $7K plus and you paid a guy in a suit to come out and replace a Video card. (me!!)
Nothing better to learn the craft than to smoke a few...(I wont mention who smoked one of the first 486 processors to hit the country was....)
Comfortably numb...
And NO, Google is NOT my friend...
Hell yes...I remember buying my son a 286...it didnt have a floppy drive so I had someone put one in for me...cost...$150.00....yes...really.lolPutting on my old farts hat, I can remember when 8086 and 286 systems were $7K plus and you paid a guy in a suit to come out and replace a Video card.
Last week I worked at Harvey Norman in the furniture department.
Now I work in computers.
Last week I didn't even know how to spell Teck-Neeshin...now I are one.
That cracked me up
I have seen computers that people have tried to build and then come to me to find out why their comp don't work, because they forgot to put risers in.
They get charged double for just been stupid.
A mate of mine did this. He was sure he could build a computer on his own. Unfortunately, this was about a year ago with a new asus 680i board. $500 at the time, didnt realise what the little brass things were for so just screwed the board to the mobo back plate.
Needless to say, we have given him shit about it ever since.
Jalorathis
another person who shouldnt be around computers
It seems to be a disease over there , funny shit
