    Default Best Amplifiers

    Hi folks,
I currently have a set of Bower & Wilkins CM9 front speakers with CM2 centre and 4sets of Audio Acoustics 2020 for rears and surround. My current amp is a Yamaha RX-V1600 which is not coping to well with the upgraded speakers. I looking for a amp which might suit my needs. I also want to run the CMs using bi-amp capabilities which the current amp struggles to do as you loose your surround speakers in this mode.
    Any suggestions or help? Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I did have a quick look at those brands you mention, but I haven't come across a model that you can use for your typical 5.1 setup as well as having the option for bi amping for the front speakers in this mode, unless you know of the a model number you could pass on to me.

I did come across the Integra/Onkyo PA-MC5001 which has 9 channels so bi amping the fronts shouldn't be a problem I think. What do you reackon?
    Cheers

I recently had a chance to play with a Sherbourn PA 7-350 and was very impressed. It was ex demo stock and bought by the customer at a good price. This amp had some serious grunt!

Wow.. amazing specs as you said. How did you go with the power supply, it mentions it uses a 20amp power lead. What was the pre amp you used?

Unfortunately I was at the job to sort out some TV issues, and checking the audio set up was part of the process. I had not come across this amp before and was unaware of its huge power demands. My trusty "JKP" and "Spears & Munsil" test discs produced some amazing sound played through the OPPO BDP-105. Pre-Amp was an Integra DHC-80.3. This visit was part of my day job, not my private work, so I could not hang around as long as I would have liked. It would be nice to have the money for such fun toys!

Don't know if you know of this brand have you thought about Rotel. They are pretty good units and you can get them for different applications.
