Has anyone tried both of these? How do they compare with speed delay?

Ok so I ended up trying out the "privateinternetaccess" VPN. I'm trying to get openVPN or any VPN software to run off my Android TV. It keeps saying cannot open TUN in Open VPN. I don't really want to "Root" the device which I assume must be like jailbreaking but for android. I have only just bought the TV. It does not appear as though there is even a folder dev\net\tun. I don't really know much about Android, as I have been with Apple products prior. At this point in time I'm getting ready to throw the TV through a window though as I cant even get a simple VPN to run on this thing. It is running Ice Cream Sandwich (What a stupid OS name) 4.0.4.

Any help greatly appreciated to achieve the simplest fix. Thanks

I can make boxvpn run on any device by sharing boxvpn on a second network card and plugging in a cable network router which can even be wireless to the second ethernet card. Only drawback is you need that PC running to connect any device to the VPN
Also need to switch off all PC firewalls except maybe Windows to share internet properly. Your cable network router will probably have a built in firewall anyway. OpenVPN doesn't work with internet sharing this method I found.
I refuse to use crappy OpenVPN anymore a waste of money for shared internet unless someone knows another way of getting it to share.

I think the problem I have is the fact it's one of the first Android TV's. Plus it has current OS. I don't think the VPN software likes the new OS. I just want VPN to correctly access stuff from the play store and not be region locked.

Is there someone that can help me get this TUN module loaded on the Android smart TV so a VPN will work. I don't really feel confident "rooting" the smart TV either. It seems very difficult. Any help greatly appreciated.

What's an easily obtainable compatible router that's a decent value proposition?

Hey Fernbay, so are you saying it is best to load the VPN details directly into your router. I only have a billion 7800N router. Does this means I have to go out and buy another router in order to get the VPN to work on my android TV.
