    Default Navcore 9.510 with auto-power-on

Tomtom does not seem to care about the endless requests in their own support forum.
But we are lucky as there are still users out there working on improovements.
Although I don't think an automatic power on is a good thing (people leave the TT on the windscreen and wonder why someone breaks into the car),
you always nagged that this feature is a must have.
KEESSIE74 had the same thought and implemented the power on function into a modified kernel.
He also changed the names of the Live models so they show their full name now.
Any credits for these mods go to KEESSIE74 and the ongoing support of DSA8310!

Navcore used and changes done to it:
I used the modified kernel on the current 9.510 Navcore.
    Mods from side include :
Custom startup and shutdown images for the widescreen models.
TMC fix included so your RDS receiver will work.
English Kate Loquendo voice with personal mods so you have a working TTS configuration.
    Other minor things

How to use it and how does it work??
1: This kernel mod is still considered to be experimental, so it might not work on all models and I need your feedback!
So please, don't just leech it, report back how it performs!
2: Best way to install is on an empty device after making a backup.
3: Download the EXE and start it.
4: Read the instructions within the installer carefully and follow them.
    5: Enjoy and report back.

Note to people spreading the Navcore elsewhere:
Please use my links until a final release is posted by me.
We need to know the downloads to properly judge the received feedback!
If you post it in other forums that I don't visit, please go back here and leave the combined feedback in short form.
Once the final release is out please use your own uploads and keep them alive.

Tried it out on my TT one and firstly keeps restarting after shutdown. Voices don't work. Had to install car symbols to change from the arrow.
Think I will return to one of your earlier navcores that works perfectly. Maybe later this will go better for me.

Did you select the MemoryBoost version for 32mb devices?

Well not sure. I deleted all files on my tomtom and then chose it to unpack the exe file. Wasn't sure if that was correct as it seemed to take a long time and was installing the same files over and over. I then thought maybe I should have unpacked it into a folder on the PC first.
When I looked at the tomtom it just had the one set of files so not sure which version I had.
Can you advise me which way I should have done it and I can try again TNX

Just unpacked into a folder on PC and only have the one set of files (very quick this time)Before unpacking it says "At this stage only one version for all models is provided.
It should work just fine on most 32mb models even with TTS."

Of course you are right as this here was only the test platfrom for the automatic power on feature, my fault.
Please take the instead as it includes versions for all devices as well as the latest Navcores.

    Hi Downunder.

The power down feature works great. The power on feature doesn't work when the device was powered down over an hour ago.

    I have a GO730.

    Regards

    Chris

thanks, tested for a few times on my old go730, it is ok but sometime took very long time (1/2 hour) to get the gps signal, and most of the time the signal would drop for a sec to few minutes and be back on during the driving.
found previous 9.004 or 9.025 off you are more stable. cheers.

You do realise that downloading the current Quick fix data will fix reception problems?

That is strange for 2 reasons:
    a) I use a 730 myself with this Navcore and get a sat fix in a few seconds
    b) With updated Quick fix data there should be no issue at all
But the Quick fix data will be overwritten when you install fresh with the installer, so doing it again (the quick fix) right after the install is recommended if you have reception problems.

Hi, The link for downloading this modified NC has gone now, linksave doesnt exist. Is there somewhere else I can download it from.

I liked it because the volume problem from after 8.302 was fixed on it. Thanks, Ian
