    Default Processor recommendations

    Hi All.

I would like to hear what people views are on these 4 processors, in particular likes or dislikes and why.

The reason is I am looking at maybe updating my PC and was offered these items.

PC is used mainly for word processing, some video and gaming work.

    Thank you

    -Q6600
    -Q9300

I use the Q9300. Nice CPU.
My uses, general PC stuff and BOINC, ie SETI. It runs 4 separate instances of BOINC. Woohoo
When doing video work, that's handled by 1 core, the other 3 happily process BOINC.
The PC runs cooler than the Sempron64 3000 I had previously.

    Your needs are pretty basic.

Any of those cpu's are good enough.

use the money to get a big disk and heaps of RAM.

    Hi all,

@intelliGeorge, Thanks mate but not an option at the moment.

@ Z80, Urban and Aboulay, Thanks I guess I was seeing if one of these CPU's was better than another, but if their all good, then that makes the selection easier.
