I have a Videomate PCI TV Tuner T300 that seems to use a chipset driver SAA7134. My computer runs both XP and Linux, under XP the tuner has software and works well. But I would like to have it working on Linux. I have tried several programs from the package manager but I can't get any to work.
If someone has advice. Please help...

My version of Ubuntu has the driver compiled in the kernal and the driver loads at boot time, but thats as far as any of it goes. I realy don't know what to do to get any software on linux to use it.

I followed as many steps there as I could and got all channels to work with only one program but no audio, soon after that half the os died and I had to reinstall . Well at least I got somewhere.
keep trying skozzy I reinstalled ubuntu 3- 4 times then tried a myth tv back
end build. Most success i had was a kubuntu build with hardy heron 8.04

I prolly D/L and install to see if I can get my old scanner and printer to work.
Might even reinstall TV card to and see how it goes will get back to you if it does. I uninstalled trhe card cause I didnt watch to much on the computer
and have a HD STB anyway. TOO many gadgets not enough time cheers AA
PS: Check the audio cable from card is connected to AUX in on M/B and check audio settings
to see if the card is sending to right sound module :ALSA: , I think.
