7" Chinese Gps lags for a while then crashes
Hi guys
I'm running an old cooy of bazzle's 8.3.5 on in dash unit and it works beautifully. I recently purchased a 7" chinese portable unit from hong kong for moving between other vehicles and i copied the exact same file over and the gps is lagging to a point where it can't even follow my vehicle on the map and eventually comes up with the out of memory error. Is there something wrong with the device or can I just tweak the settings to maybe a lower resolution or less detail so the device can run them?
Device specs are:
Brand new and high quality.
GPS Module :High Sensitive GPS Receiver
Displaying Screen:7 inch TFT high resolution 800*480

GPS Card Slot: TF Card
Screen Size: 7 inch

Unfortunately its prob is the 64mb internal memory that is the main issue.
Some of those unit have settings to change system/background memory use with a slider.
Also with igo try disabling some features then adding them back until it fails to see what you can live with.
Ie, POI, DEM, TTS
Have a nice day
You could search for i3 Primo
That normally works on low mem units with not too much trouble.

You also should set/modify some parameters in section [debug] of file sys.txt as shown next:
[debug]
; how much memory should be left free (in Bytes) ?
; if you set the parameter "reserve_memory" lower than 1500000 Bytes, iGO will trump
; your settings and automatically reserve 4000000 Bytes for "other applications"
reserve_memory=1500000
cache=2048
; how much memory can take iGO (in Bytes) ?
; checked the available memory with resinfo.exe : ~50MB => 52428800 Bytes
; subtract "cache" and "reserve_memory" of it in order to get the maximum amount of memory alloted to iGO
max_memory=50926752
FYI: A fully commented sys.txt you can get from
