Thanks pietu - I never saw a 2014.10 update from Sensis, I'm guessing they skipped an update to keep up with Navteq.
Regarding the JCV files, anybody know what one gets used with the different GPS's, specifically a 1490T?

Hi pete, JCV for 1490T is D2003130A. should give a full screen view. You can use the other D3299070A file if you want; it just does a half screen view on 1490T.

Hi Pietu and all
Not sure how to download these files.
When i click Mapsource Unlocked (164.74 Mb )I get Linksave.in page and then from there if I go to Filefactory.com they want to charge me AU$.
Then below that I find Usenet.nl who want to charge me Euro dollars.
So tell me how to download each of the unlocked files without paying I must be able to normally, how did the others do it.
Tried IE8 and Firefox but still come up with same download links.
Doesn't matter which "Download" I choose 1st or 2nd I still get the same link pages?
Totally confused so far. I must be doing something wrong maybe.
Any help please.
Tnx in advanced

Choose second link on right; this is the faster for me with firefox,
it will open in Linksave,
choose "part_1 Rar (has Netload.in underneath)
click on arrow/V just to right, if the usenet popup is in your face, click schlieben.
You will then open in a new page of Linksave with the link for Netload,
click on "Continue with the free download",
new page, timer counting down, when finished captcha security code will appear, type in numbers or letters as they appear.
then click next, another timer countdown,
then "your download will start automatically or click here". I had to click here for all items.
Then standard web browser download dialogue will open, click save file & it will go to downloads.
Then it downloaded all in reasonable time.
You will probably get a few popup adds just close them & don't click on any other tempting "download this" type links.
Hope that helps.
Cheers, Tiny

Thanks guys.
That's what I love about this forum when you ask for help someone always will assist and show the way.
Very much appreciated.
Thanks
are there sqlite file for this map?
or would the one from the navteq be ok?
edit: i always thought the g2s was mytrends, so i never used to update it (thought it would erase all 'my' trends) - now am thinking the sqlite my be mytrends (and the g2s traffic trends) - anyone confirm?

This should clear it up for you rich?
"G2S & .db :NüRoute technology & trafficTrends
NüRoute technology with trafficTrends historical traffic and myTrends G2S (GarminAdjacencytoSSID) and .db files
Experience nüRoute™ Technology with trafficTrends™ and myTrends™
With trafficTrends™ and myTrends™ no subscription are necessary, no added costs, your nüvi GPS just does it.
With myTrends, when you save your regular destinations in your “Favorites,” your nüvi Garmin will, over time, begin to figure out where you’re going even without your telling it! It provides time of arrival and relevant traffic information. So whether you’re driving to and from work or a regularly scheduled weekly event, your Garmin Nuvi will help you get there on time.
With trafficTrends, your nüvi Garmin GPS automatically learns daytime trends for traffic flow to improve your routes and better predict your estimated time of arrival based on time of day and day of week. And you get free trafficTrends™ updates every time you connect your device to myGarmin.
G2S Path: ".System\G2S"
trafficTrends" files .db Path: ".System\SQLite\"
for compatible devices that use traffic receivers"

so if i understand correct - i need to update the g2s files with each map - and sqlite files are no longer provided with these downloads and now we have to log into mygarmin to get them?
Well Rich, you can read into it what you like.
IMHO as the update has both files, it would appear to me that the source of that update was for a device that supported both TrafficTrends & MyTrends.
The update of the Sensis map in this thread is possibly sourced from an update to a Device that doesn't have both, I'm only guessing here.
As not all devices have both TrafficTrends & MyTrends, neither of mine have MyTrends, so no G2S folder. (1490T & 2597LMT)
Since Garmin's priority is to Navteq based Devices you will see less & less frequent Sensis map updates, most of the Nuvi models that had Sensis based lifetime map updates are on the discontinued models list , so I would expect that eventually there just wont be any.
As you're scrounging maps from here I guess you don't have lifetime map updates, so you get what you can out of it.
I have one Nuvi with Liftime Map Updates-Navteq & the other Nuvi has not & was Sensis based when purchased.
I'm using both maps, in both Nuvi's, one in my car, one in the wife's. The best of both worlds. Navteq for rural areas, & Sensis when I go to the city to visit family & friends in Sydney, as this is where I feel that each map is best.
If you can't get the Sensis map updates for free in the future, hopefully the Navteq maps will still be posted here for you.
I know the Navteq maps are a little deficient in some areas, however at least they work. I find the Sensis maps are very deficient in my local area.
Anyway, back to the G2S & Sqlite files & there is also in my new Nuvi an SID files folder, which is something to do with trafficTrends, I think.
I'm really not convinced you need worry about updating/adding these files for every map. The GPS will still route you to where you want to go without updating them.
That about covers my thoughts on the matter.

Hi Tiny,
You mention that you use both the NavTeq and Sensis maps on the one device.
If both are set to active, any idea which takes precedence?
Thanks,
Bill.
Just set both maps to active & the Sensis map takes priority on my 2597 which is a Navteq Lifetime map based unit.
The Sensis map is not even on the unit; it's on a micro sd card with topo maps. Go figure.
Checked both maps with GmapTool & both are set to the same draw priority of 30. So it may be a lottery as to which one gets priority or it may be based on age, the build date of the Sensis map is the latest. Not that there would be any point in having both active, however you got my curiosity running Bill.
