    Hi Rockeater, it is the aus maps I am trying to install!
    funnily enough, the nz version works flawlessly
    I have tried as you suggested, reinstalled etc with no luck
    will persevere, but its looking like sygic will remain as gps of choice

    So what problem are you actually having?

    From memory, I had Australia and Poland installed and working correctly when I downloaded Eastern Europe and it just did not want to play the ball.
    I downloaded it... because I could, and because it was a slightly later version than Poland - which is where I was at the time.
    I think what I did was that I first deleted the map and then de-compressed the archive on my PC (rather than use native the HTC capability) and then I transferred files into the previously made folder on the HTC
    It did not work the first time, so I uninstalled Tomtom and reinstalled it again and all 3 maps worked.

    will try it that way and see how I go. A suggestion from another forum was to turn off wifi etc and try after uninstall/boot /reinstall, but no joy for me...
