Especially when you have to wait 3 hours between files. That's 102 hours plus the time to actually download each 10MB chunk. A cruel joke I feel!

This link is just as big joke as the other one.
IE just goes into countless loop of ads.
FF after long series of ads displays the link but it is obscured by the frame of another ad.
Real browser (Opera) does not do anything because Ghostery just blocks all the ads.
So no joy at all.
There surely must be still be a a file hosting site that is usable.

I managed to finally download TT stuff by using... HTC XL One.
Once on the particular (part) map page on my PC, I used url shortener to make it easier to enter the url into Opera Classic Mobile browser.
Then opened link in new tab and voila, afer 60 seconds delay, the download began.
Opening link in new tab was vital as clicking on the red "slow download" button did nothing.
Although convoluted, at least the mobile method worked well, there was no pop-ups, redirections and advertising.
Update:
Australia works OK but Eastern Europe does not find the map although it was installed in the same way as Oz.

My only problem was with downloading it.
Once I had it on my device (in temp directory as .apk) it installed like any other app.
From memory - as it was 2 months ago - it went with only minor hiccups. Nothing that anyone with minimal knowledge of it (like me) could not work out.
It is better to have the map you want to use already unpacked in the directory:
/tomtom/com.tomtom.australia (if you are installing tomtom with australian map) before you install tomtom application as it will pick the map up without need for reboot.
What probles are you having?
