Default PCI Parallel Card - Base Address 0x278

Hi all, can anyone recommend a PCI card that can have its base address set to legacy support of base address 0x278 ?

I have one, but it doesn't support this base address, and the application I use needs to see it at the legacy address.

    Cheers

Yes I've tried that, but windows doesn't honor that setting, I've forced the IRQ to 5, which is the base address I need, but windows happily chooses its own!

But that won't help if the card doesn't support that base address.

No jumpers on the board or places for jumpers ?

Address lines are physical and can be changed. Even with a soldering iron and a hobby knife if needed.

There are no jumpers on the board at all.

I recall that setting on some older computers, but now the new ones are all ACPI, the OS has control of the resources.

I think z80 and BassTeq are onto something there.

Right click My Computer, select properties, click hardware tab, click device manager button, select the printer port in the ports section, right click, properties, resource tab, un-tick use automatic, Try different settings in the "settings based on" dropdown. If there is a conflict on one of the settings it will be listed in the bottom conflicting box. Might need to juggle some stuff around.

I haven't actually tried that, but read posts on other sites from people who have, if you disable acpi you have to reinstall the o/s, but they could still not configure the base address to what was required.
