Connection via gsm is a tad on the slow side. Bring on 3g as a minimum

From what i understand, the IP path is for monitoring also. Still working out all the finer details of the panel, we're expanding it soon so will know a bit more then.

Might be relevant to the Agility, I was trying to get the lightsys to communicate via the built in IP settings to my control room that does IP reporting, I have a few IP alarms reporting over the 3G networks in Perth so I thought I could just use the same settings, after much buggering around and a phone call to Mainline, I was told that the control room needs Risco Software loaded to then convert the IP language into contact ID for the receiver.

Might be a reason it would be easier to use a DTU or permacon etc.

You are quite correct, we haven't gone down the IP reporting path as yet. If the customer wanted IP reporting, we have installed Permaconn units.
