Default Planning on Route 66 next year in May - car rentals asking USD $12pd for a GPS

    Hi all,
Have a spare TT Go920 I think or 720 - in an office as I type this, hardly use it My car has my oldie goldie TT 1XL...

Plans (if they work out!), to drive the 'Historic' Route 66 Chicago to LA. Staying in some major cities (NY, Vegas, LA, SF).

The rental car companies want from USD $11pd to $15pd for a car GPS. So will be on the road for about 26days and walking around for a while.

Is it possible that I can get USA maps to cover the above in the TT920/720?

Also, do they have 'normal' cigarette lighter holes so the ones I have will work ok?

So not sure it all ok for the trip. Might be canceled. But just checking on how to make it cheaper to convince the missis.

    Thanks.

All you need is update with TT Honme to the latest Navcore (Application),
add the USA map and use FastActivate to patch the Navcore and activate the new map.
Might be good idea to update the AU map as well
And yes, cigarette lighter are standard size, even in the US.
