Welcome.
I am not in Australia, I am in Southern California USA. I think the sun shines here just like in Australia. Was refered to visit the site and like it very much. Seems like alot of very nice people who know a lot about Solar Generation of electricity.
I got into the Solar thing about five years ago when I moved my tow company yard to a rural area in San Diego, CA that did not have electricity.
I bought four 15 watt panels and charge controllers from a major auto parts store and hooked them up to my office. I connected the supplied 8 amp charge controller to my four Deep Cycle Marine batteries.
It worked out very well untill the landlord finally hooked us up to the grid.
I kept my system functional and had to use it occassionally when the grid went down.
My little 60 watt/12V system via my batteries powered a night light, my printer, and two small florescent lights in the office.
Looking forward to sharing my little bit of aquired knowledge with others. Real Nice site. thanks, Joe

Welcome.
In hindsight I should have posted my Facebook status as: "I've blown the head gasket on my 1997 XR3i" rather than "I've just buggered a 14 year old escort".
The police still haven't seen the funny side, my lap top's been confiscated and the wife has gone off to her mum's.
Welcome to Austech Joe.
