    Hi name is Colin,

    have a humax 5400 ,

    2.3 dish,

LNB set to 5150 local osc.,

set up an arm to move the dish

have spent hours with a satellite finder, a big signal on meter but nothing when i tune up the humax.

Sorry I didn't see this before...
Hope you haven't "chopped" the dish yet.

Asiasat 8???? Maybe you mean Intelsat8 (the old PAS8)?
If you have a "blocked" view to the north then either get the dish up on a pole (to raise it above the blocking object) or move it (east or west) to a point where the view is "open", if that can be done.
Failing that you'll just have to look for sats either side of north.
    Mark.
With 7 sat dishes in the yard & 6 sat receivers, I'd say I'm serious about the hobby! Welcome to my own Pine Gap.
