Question A Dish with multiple LNBs?

During a visit in Europe I got interested in Satellite TV. A friend had a dish with 4 LNBs and a Dreambox 800m.

I tried to find simular equipement in Australia but couldn't find it.

Can anyone reommend a good dish with multiple LNBs?
(And maybe a place to buy a Dreambox?)

I live in the Northern part of Sydney.

    Thanks.

Multi LNB holders are/were available but it's not hard to make up something yourself using standard LNB holders and some bits and pieces, nuts and bolts.

You will need a dish of at least 90cm as a standard 65cm PAY-TV dish forces the LNBs too close together.

A forum search on this forum and at will find many previous posts related to multiple LNBs.

A Dreambarx seller is/was on this forum and should take your dollars without excessive violence.

You can use a Dish called a T90 for lots of LNBs or a 90cm off set dish with a magic mount for 2 or 3.

    You can get B3, C1, D1 & Pas 8 (Intelsat 8 ) from one 85cm dish

The pictures show a Quad LNB as the primary focus on C1.

    From left to right the LNB's are Pas8, D1,C1 & D2

As C1 is the primary focus the quality is 99%. The signal from the other 3 LNB's is typically 70%. Which is fine. They just are the first to go if it rains, but it does not rain as we are in a drought in OZ. lol

The LNB mount is a magic mount. You can get them from eBay for about $10-$15. The only draw back is the freight from the US or Canada will cost you another $15-$20. Typically it will cost you $30 for the magic mount delivered in Australia. Get a few friends together and save.

Some may say, why not just use a Moteck. Well you can, but have you ever tried rotating a dish while your wife was watching TV.

    Some more good reading

    Cheers

Here's what I've done but I have since changed my configuration. I couldn't fit a dual out LNB for C1 so I repositioned that LNB for the old B3/D2 position and put the dual out for C1 on the 65cm dish. Works for me.

very tempted by this whole multi LNB thing, esp as all I can really get where my dish is is C1/D1/D2. Sadly a big fecking tree is in the way to stop me getting AS4

Or use a Motech. It's a motorised mount & works quiet well with dreamboxes

Thanks all for the great feedback.
The T90 is what I am after. As I'm new to satellite TV is their an internet store or a store in Sydney where I can buy a T90?
I also need to buy the LNB's. Are they all the same, should I buy 4 different ones or does it not really matter?

    Thanks

Generally 10700's will do the trick but the odd universal will be required for such birds as i701. Prob not an issue if you don't speak french!!
There was a guy on ebay selling bulk lots of Sharp 10700 lnb's cheap the other day.

    Hi

As LeroyPatrol said a 10.7 lnb is currently the most common. I701 and NSS6 need a uni LNB, but as said French on I701 and not much on NSS6 now.

    A uni LNB works in 2 bands 10.7-11.8 and 11.6 - 12.7 GHz. (22 kHz signal switched).

    Cheers

Running 4 LNB's on an 85cm via a 3-way plastic LNB holder. (Bought two LNB supports, used an additional LNB holder from it and applied that to the first.) Full quality on each.

    The C1 LNB is a dual-out, 10700's apply for D2, D1, IS8.

T90's, a chap use to have them on Ebay, NZ fella I think has stopped selling them, but HWNT Adelaide might still have them.

Which sat have you 'centred' your dish on? I'd like to get D2 a bit better.
