Default Bluetooth Vunerabilities are there any?

Hi guys, finally pick up a new mobile with bluetooth capability and was wondering if bluetooth is vunerable to hacking?

I ask because I was buggerising around at work and one of my workmates was trying to send me a file via the bluetooth and while I was searching virtualy every other blutooth device in near vacinity showed on my ph and it got me thinking, is bluethooth safe or are there vunerabilities?

try in an airport or train station or busy cafe see how many you pick up there.

They showed a whole show on tv about hacking peoples bluetooth phones and dialling premium numbers on tehm while the phone was still in teh dudes pocket. Got him dialling a premium owned number for over 20 minutes. (the guy doing the hacking owned teh premium number.)

There's a program called super bluetooth hack. I have it, and only use it for a gag with my mates. It has it's glitches and whatnot, but for fun, it's sweeet... Also good for calling, DL'ing files, ringing, etc.

Why not to have bluetooth in hide mode and automatic pairing to authorised devices only?

thanks guys from now on I'll be very midful and hvae blue tooth switched off unless I'm actually using, although I guess i'm probably naive for thinking in the first instances that it could be vunerable.

    thanks again

bluetooth isnt new technology, its been around for years.

like anything it has its vunerabilties.

just be smart, keep it off when not using it, dont accept connections from unknown devices and you'll be fine.

keeping it off will also save battery life dramatically so that might be a idea also

i never turn my bluetooth off.
You can't get anything malicious through bluetooth unless you click "yes" to accept it, or unless it comes from a phone which you have previously paired your phone to and set the connection to automatically connect and transfer files.

Your modem is a lot less secure, but I bet you don't switch it off when you stop browsing youporn do you?
