    Default Mediastar HD8200S

Anybody got any thoughts on the Mediastar Powers HD 8200s. Need a new twin tuner MPEG 4 satellite decoder with PVR function, CAM slots and networking capability. Would prefer to steer away from Ultraplus and Octagon.

Mediastar Powers HD8200S is from the same stable as Octagon and Ultraplus. They are all FORTIS based receivers. Any reason you actually want to avoid them. I have used all of them and they are really good boxes.

And you need to use a USB DVB-T tuner with the Vu. It's not the easiest box to drive. No blindscanning either.
The Fortis boxes work well with recording and playback and time shifting works fantastic. Easiest box I know to get cards working in the slots.
I have both boxes and what do I use all the time? UltraPlus X-9200HD.

I am a fan of the Octagon (have owned 2 of them) but the twin tuner doesn't come with a terrestrial option (as far as I am aware). I currently have an Ultraplus and find it a bit "clunky" to use. For example, it doesn't allow me to organise my channels.
