    Default Artillery Shells

I thought I would post a couple of artillery shells up that I own.

The first is an absolute monster....this is a 4.5 inch Naval Artillery shell. Its dated 1960. Sunglasses in pic for size comparison.

Further info here, worth a read

Here is a picture (not mine) of what they look like armed.

The Small Arms Factory Museum in Lithgow, NSW has I think has probably the World's largest private collection of weapons and I think, ammunition to match the weapons.
The majority of their display is of ALL the items that were made at the 'Factory' during its life along with other items related to that as well as many donated pieces either on 'loan' or as gifts.
Obviously those who run the Museum are real enthusiasts and many worked there manufacturing both weapons and the other items they 'Sub'd to do.

Admin, if you would like to send me an email with that base as an attachment, I am going past there tomorrow and if time permits and their open, I can ask about it.
