    More disposable income? Where do I sign up! You guys must pay less income tax than we do here. That being said, it's "good" to know both our governments love to exploit what they think we can afford.

    Your minimum wage is $7.25 an hour, ours for those not on awards (wouldnt be many) is $16.37, those on awards maybe higher. Most people wouldnt work for less than $20

    But does the economy balance with the salary? For example, if you make 16.37 minimum; but an apartment costs 1200 a month, you're in the same boat as someone at minimum wage here. 7.25 is not great, but you would qualify for an apartment that costs 400 a month.

    Most rentals are the private market which vary very much depending on where you choose to live. The only subsidised housing is public housing and you wouldnt be working to get it.

    It would be more expensive to live here than the US, but people here will spend wildly on electronics, mobile phones, big screen TV's etc
