Any feedback or comments to make on this....
Anyone ?
I have had an international visitor come to my place recently who during conversation mentioned being able to call to Italy land lines for free (100 minutes per month limit)
This is a Service / Smartphone Application from Indoona, see link below.
At the moment I am looking for any other services like Indoona particularly for making free calls to France, ... free to mobiles would also be a bonus.
I think VoIPBuster is another service like Indoona... but I will need to check this one out further as a request for money or credit card etc is part of registration (unlike Indoona which did not have this)
Does anyone know of other services out there that gives you free international calls to real (land line or mobile) telephone user end points?

Thanks for the link, looks interesting
Can't add anything to your thread YET
When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all
What's wrong with Skype, viber, FaceTime.....there are just tooooooooo many.

Statistically, if you wait long enough, everything will happen!
But they are not free to land lines are they ??

We use WeChat. It's free and you can make videocalls from mobile or tablet(Android)
A lot of family "oldies" can hardly use a mobile phone let alone a mobile or computer app.
Basically app to landline (or even mobile) is actually what I am looking for.
Indoona and VoiPBuster have this... and for selected countries at no cost (well at least for 100 minutes)
An old post I know but some info if anyone comes across it.
I use 'voipstunt' although I'm in the uk works anywhere...here's the deal...I pay 10 euros (+tax) which gives me 90 days of free calls to many countries (list is shown on the site) and free call anywhere regardless of credit to other voipstunt users. After the 90 days it will then start to use my 10 euro credit UK to Oz cost just € 0.017 min (AU$0.02 yes 2 cents!) Calls to mobiles in Australia are just € 0.178 or calls to mobiles in the UK are € 0.213 (31 cents) calls to United states mobile are free atm, they also run a sip and voipin service.
You can use the app (mobile or pc) to call direct or request a 'call back' your landline will ring then it auto calls the requested number, a small surcharge is made for this, they do have a fair use policy of 300 minutes per week of free calls I only went over that once but then it just charges at the normal rate, I find € 10 lasts me around 6 months depending on how many calls I make...worth looking at imho.

Nice info cheers ill try it tonight
I know this is an old thread but looking at the some of the latest mobile plans, is either VoiP or Skype still worth considering today?
One mobile phone plan offers 400 minutes of calls to 'Selected International Numbers as well as unlimited calls to 15 Countries plus unlimited standard National calls and SMS from where ever you are with no computer required.
I stand unequivicably behind everything I say , I just dont ever remember saying it !!
I have had several VOIP accounts for many years now and still use them to contact various people.
Mobile telephones are very convenient but need to be treated with caution due to health problems associated with radiation.
In a nutshell, I would use a mobile telephone only in an emergency or for short periods of time only, regardless of what the charges are.
what health problems?
Simple enough to find out...
The topic is somewhat controversial. It has been reported that some of those studies, which state there is minimal danger to humans from mobile telephone radiation, have been financed by telecommunication companies, therefore it is possible that they are biased.
The Scandinavian countries were the first to report adverse effects from microwave radiation.
I stopped worry about the radiation from a Mobile Phone when I drove around the TV towers in Sydney with their 500.000 watt outputs as well as passing the local AM radio station with the semi directional 5000 watt antenna that plus god knows how many Micro wave dishes on towere and poles everywhere.
My query wasnt about getting irradiated by microwave or any other energy but is VoiP and Skype still worth having with all the changes I mentioned in my original post?
PS, Up at Mt Boyce half a click off the highway is a rotating Weather Radar antenna that sweeps across the Highway pumping out an unknown amount of power which Im have driven through many times so Mobile phones dont worry me.

I just use Viber for 98% of my telecommunication needs, locally and internationally.
That is why my Aldi mobile $15 recharge lasts 365days
Since M$ took over Skype it has become nothing else than datamining spyware crap. They even locked my accounts twice and wanted some kind of identity verification, probably because I was using VPN.
I don't hold a mobile to my ear (handsfree) so no radition issues, unless you believe homeopathic amounts of radition would cause damage. Better then stay always inside the house wrapped in an aluminium blanket and of course dissconnected from any form of electricity. All the switch mode power supplies we have these days are a killer too
BTW, Better Call Saul is a great show
