That's a good question and I am interested too.
I have used one of the cheaper Chinese units and found it cumbersome and the instructions not very helpful. I used a unit many years ago with a spectrum analyser built in and it was a joy to use.

I have a WS6909 it works fine now but the first one I got had to be sent back, faulty.
It doesn’t have spectrum analyser but has DVB-T as well as DVB-S.
I have also noticed that the sensitivity is not as good as the STB.
IE: the signal you get at the dish on ws6909 is shown stronger on STB.
I was tuning the dish for IS19 the other day and I got good signal on12726 H but on 12557 H next to nothing but when I went into the STB I was getting that frequency good enough to receive it.

Re positioned one of dishes today and tried to find Intelsat 18 @ 180 Deg E using my old mpeg 2 Nokia as the finder which works great except that I found nothing after two hours until I got my spare mpeg 4 openbox out.
If had to buy ont today it would only be a mpeg 4 one or I would forget about it.

I recently bought a Satking SK 6000 - having had very good service for three years out of my Satking Sk 3000.

Haven't used it a lot yet, but on first pass I am not totally overwhelmed with its performance.
It has a couple of software bugs that should have never been allowed to escape the factory, and it's a little temperamental when finding DVB-S2 stuff, which is what I bought it for.
Once a "Lock" is achieved on a S2 signal, all is good, and lots of useful signal analysis is available.
It's certainly a damn sight more convenient for tuning in S2 than lugging a STB/Monitor around, that's for sure.

On the sensitivity front, I'd say it's at least on a par with the Strong receivers that I use.

On the plus side, the display is a vast improvement on the old SK3000, and can be comfortably viewed and interpreted in daylight.
It's early days yet, and I'll probably grow to love it in time - but right now I find myself still reaching for the trusty old SK3000 first.
