Default A:\ shows in windows explorer

Hi all, i've recently built my new PC and i dont have a A:\. i never use floppy disks so i didn't bother installing one. When i go into windows explorer, it still appears in the folder list.

Is there any way of not displaying it in the left hand folder list?

    Thanks

have a look in the bios... you may be able to disable any floppy "drives" in there. There are also registry hacks to hide drive letters... but I think the bios will fix you up.

Another thought see if Xp has installed the floppy drive and controller... go to Control Panel -> System ->Hardware Tab -> Device Manager. Look for Floppy Drive and Floppy Drive Controllers and uninstall them and reboot. If Xp discovers the floppy again you probably still need to turn off the floppy controller in the bios. You could disable them in the device manager if you don't go the bios route.

Like ssrattus said you have to disable it from the bios mate, this is the best way.
