This is a real worry, when you sell your house in the future, a prospective buyer may not proceed after getting a building inspection done.
If they have done structural damage, would not you have to get a licensed builder to under take the works as it would/could be a legal claim for damages. Does not leave the Engineer looking good if he has not made this recommendation, get a copy of his written report and say you will make him liable if the damage is not repaired to building standards. What we do on a commercial property is get an Engineer in, he makes all the recommendations, if they fail we sue them, they have good insurance covers

I got a phone call from the installer yesterday asking if they could start at 7am today due to heat and bushfire smoke so said no problem. They arrived at 6.57 and I have 4 people doing the install over today and tomorrow. The twin 4.4 kw inverters are being installed in my garage.

I bit the bullet, and will risk my 44c FIT, and tomorrow I will have installed a 2.5kw inverter, and 6x250w panels (I'll add another 4 later on when the cash replenishes). I've already used my recs up, so this will cost me $2300. So, a little down the track (few months) I'll get the other 4 panels (another grand), and I'll end up with a total of 4.9kw system (already have 2.4) and the total cost will have been $4800 (1500 for the first one with the rebates, + 2300 for this one, + 1000 for the other 4 panels).
That should see my bill disappear !!
Cheers.

Sounds like a nice instal. I like the Inverters in the Garage and not outside in a place that looks ugly!
I have installed a few Inverters in nice out of the way places, miles away from the Meter Box up the back of the property, near the panels.
Once its converted to 240v, it is then easy and cost effective to transmit to the Switchboard.
So long as everything has the appropriate labelling, then there is no reason you cant think outside the square.
The last property i did Solar, you couldn't even tell it was there, everything was hidden, including the panels.

Yes, I am aware. But from what I am told there is a very small risk of being caught, and as I mentioned much earlier, I am currently using more than I am producing during the day, so the amount being fed back in is negligible anyway.
Technically I am locked into .44c until 2028 - but I can't see it ever lasting that long. I give it a couple of years and it will be revoked. The same way the 64c tariff was revoked. Cries of "But I have a contract" meant nothing.
Apparently the people that deal with the solar contracts, and the networks don't 'talk' - my installer said it was 'quite comical'. I'll take the risk and let you all know how long I last, and what (if any) ramifications there are. I'm betting (and hoping )you won't hear anything from me for a long long time !
Cheers.

These guys dont mess around, they havent stopped all day. All wiring and inverters and 20 panels installed with the remaining 12 going up tomorrow. Boss man is leaving now and the other 3 at 3PM.
Might post up a couple of pics when they leave in about 45 mins. I had a chat with them about my roofing issues of late and they found an additional 3 broken tiles on my roof. As I have no spares they repaired them as best they could with silicon and relocated them to an easy accessible section at the bottom of the roof for easy replacement access.

In WA last year they were going to can the tariff with people still having 2 years left of higher tarrifs.
The outcry was huge as people had borrowed money, done the right thing (green)
The state pollies then said they made a mistake and kept the high feed in tarrifs
Gee Whiz admin, with all those panels you could power a small village.
Fark, this thing is like a nuclear reactor.
And yes I know I have to trim that tree
I was also surprised to see how much room I still have, I reckon you could still get another 4-6 panels on
Wow, very neat.
Did they get to mount the Inverters today?
I see you have added the Inverter pic.... WOW... Super neat, brilliant labels, obviously they are proud of their work.
Money well spent!
My only question, why the 2 inverters?
Do you have a 2 Phase supply?

Don't tell me you stood on the water tank to take the photo?
Looks good!
