    Default aurora question

Hey a few questions about getting the optus aurora free to air channels working.

I have a foxtel account all setup. Was wanting to run a humax 5410z and have the sat dish cable run to the humax LNB in - then run another cable from the humax LNB out into the foxtel LNB in. Would that work all ok?

Second part is getting a working Aurora card. Are there any other options rather than getting a legit card and hoping optus authorise it if i put in a dodgy address...

Did a bit of a search but couldn't really find this info. Its probably been all done before so if it has been i probably just need pointing to the thread where the info is.

    Cheers

It does work but you can only have one STB on at one time (one has to be in standby), not an issue if they are both gonna be on the same tv.

As for the card, ird1 services a due to be switched off soon so a dodgy address and legit activation maybe the only way to go. If you want to have a play, buy yourself a jaycar mark II programmer and do a search for aurora goldie.

Thanks for the quick and helpful reply

Yeh it would be on the same tv so as you said that wouldn't be an issue.

Dodgy addy might be the way to go then... how much do they normally check up on the details? Just a case of try it and hope i guess?

    G'Day,
They want you to quote an address and phone No when you apply either with e-mail or fax. Makes it hard, although there is provision for itinerant travellers. (Caravans etc.). Can always use that mate up in the bush to activate for you.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".

fry, as CoopsOz mentioned, I would go the jaycar mark II programmer route and have a go at making your own aurora goldie, as others here have done. Much more fun and I am sure others here would help you more if you are keen to get into "the doing rather than the telly watching" if you know what I mean.
