    Default Standalone DVD/CD burner

    Hi all,
My old man wants to burn audio cd's but is almost 70 years old
and has no idea on how to use a pc (or the patience to learn.)
Is there any sort of standalone dvd/cd burner that doesn't plug into a pc
that allows you to simply insert a audio cd, hit copy and and then insert your
    blank cd?
If they do exist, does anyone have any idea on where to buy and approx how much they would cost.

    Cheers,
    seeu

    Yes there is.

I sold one to a client.

It is capable of about 8 drives.

I will have to chase it up...but it came from Multimedia Technology in Melbourne.

It is basically a motherboard that boots in flash and just copies disks by pressing buttons to say how many copies etc.
    All in a tower case.

It is sold as a disk duplicator.

Here is a link to buy one...the whole board usually fits in a 5.25 inch bay and that is all that is in the case except for IDe cables and PSU

Firstly, Thanks for your help guys.
Z80, He doesn't want one in a tower or to fit into 5.25 inch bay.
What he wants is a recorder in a case similar to an external drive case with a cd/dvd burner in it that just plugs into the wall and has a one touch copy function.
Jazz808, I've seen those in p/o's too but its very hard to track one down close to where he is.
    Cheers,
    seeu

If you look carefully at that link you will see that the entire appliance fits in a 5.25 inch bay which you could put in an external hard disk enclosure....?

Then another enclosure for a dvd burner and you are cookin' with gas.

It's only a tower case if you want 8 drives at once.....

Philips made an audio unit that approximates what you may be thinking of ...but...it would refuse to copy copyright material.
