    Default New Sat Setup

    Hi guys,

i currently have a dish pointing to C1 for Oz$tar using Openbox which is great... What i want to know is im wanting to get some indian channels for my girlfriend, i was told there are a couple of birds AsiaSat 4, AsiaSat 3S and Insat that i can get FTA indian channels in Melbourne, what i want to know is can i use a 1.20M dish or do i NEED a 2.5M dish? also is there a special LMB i will need for these birds? also can i use any STB do get these FTA channels? also prolly not possible, but can i use 1 STB but 2 dish's to receive channels (this one isnt important as i do have 2 STB's just the other questions are more important)

    Thanks

    Hi Bouncer,

Can I start by saying, I know very little about these Satellites, and I'm hoping one of the pro on this forum will chime in and correct me.

Having done some googling I found this in reference to AsiaSat 3S if I'm reading it right it would appear that it is definitely a C band satellite but it mentions KU footprint so might be able to use your current dish.

Also found this link which may explain abit more

    Hopes this helps a little

Thanks man, great help. You always seem to be the one to solve my issues on Austech haha.

    Most appreciated!

    Cheers

No TV services on Ku from AsiaSat 3S can be received in Australia. There is a data service but it is non DVB-S so your satellite receiver won't find it.
