Seems about the same here tuxmate
Hi everyone,
Can some one check their mutant 200s for total memory? I am getting around 20MB, should be around 32MB from user manual specs.
Telnet to mutant and issue command "free" as root, as below
#free
(# prompt represents root login)
or if you are using any of the enigmas please see info>memory info from the stb menu.
TIA

Thanx weirdo. I get 22MB from enigma based images and around 20MB from DGS based ones. The manual says 8MB flash and 32MB SDRAM, that is 40MB total. Am I correct?
The main issue for me is that the remote control plays up at times. It doesn't repond sometimes or jump multiple steps. Any ideas? At first I doubted it on enigmas and reverted back to dgs original but the problem persists and now it won't tune in fta channels like aljazeera even with the pids!
Not sure mate. Mine is running the Ipbox image which I'm pretty happy with.
So you have the same problem no matter what image you try?
Yes, I have trouble with all the images I tried. I have tried DGS 2.17 , highland 2.17, SF Team, ABcom Ipbox, Pli Helenite and gemini images. The remote is non-responsive on a cold start. It starts functioning as the box heats up but still plays up a lot. If someone experienced this before please share your experience. I have tried all the settings I could think of.
Sounds like it could more likely be a hardware problem.
Have you checked the infrared LED in the remote?
I know some of the DM clone remotes had an issue with the LED not protruding far enough forward which made the range quite shitty. Not quite the same problem but still worth a look maybe?
Any electronics experts here that can give advice?
Hi,
Couldn't believe myself that the remote control problem was indeed due to batteries. As my mutant was new, I never suspected the supplied batteries. Swapped it with new ones and all is good.
Abt the total memory issue........ Basic device drivers takes up about 8mb and the rest is available for the OS. The OS reports 20-22mb or thereabouts because it can actually "see" only that much.
whats the best mutant 200s image ?
You may want to try out SIF Team 1.9.2 and gemini 4.4, both are very stable. Remember to flash the latest uboot before you flash gemini.
I have had stability and channel issues with PLi Jade. I think the issue is Jade's handling of the diseqc commands. I guess weirdo is not using diseqc switch.
That's correct tuxmate, no diseqc switch in this setup.
