    Default Tethering and battery life

I would like to find out how long a phone could hold up if it was used to tether Internet data. Does it drain the battery of the phone as fast as if you were playing a game? Or does it drain even faster? I'm thinking of getting a phone that would mainly be used to tether.

I often use my phone to tether internet, which it's the primary internet modem when I want to surf the internet on my computer. I have noticed that when I use my phone as tethering modem, it does drain the battery power, which it only lasts about 2 hours. When I play games on my phone, which I don't play as much as I used to, my phone will last between 3 to 4 hours, depending how much time do I spend on playing games. I personally think that using the phone as a tethering modem does drain the battery faster than anything when you use your phone for. I would just plug my phone to the wall charge every time I turn on the tethering feature.

Tether my HTC to my lappy all the time when travelling.

Charges the phone while tethered, so only battery problem is how long the laptop lasts if not plugged into power.
