Default Flappy Bird - were you ever addicted?

Have you ever heard of the game Flappy Bird for iOS and Android devices? Well, I have. I even downloaded the game at the Play Store because somebody told me that it was a great game. You know what I found out? It was just a very simple minigame with sprites similar to that of Super Mario on the NES. Oh, and it's hard. Extremely hard. I'm not sure if its difficulty makes it addictive.

Oh, and the game was already taken out by the developer. I wonder why.

I was also addicted to the game, The main reason why the developer took down the game was because most people were losing their mind over the game. He saw kids crashing their phones, people losing their jobs over the game and that is the reason he took it down.

I'm not so sure about that, it's possible he took it down purely for the publicity. He got the whole world talking about his game for a few weeks.
Sure he doesn't have the game available anymore, but that was free anyway!
What he now has is much more valuable, an extremely recognizable brand that he can sell merchandise for, a bit like Angry Birds.

I never get addicted by flappy birds. I stopped to play after I got 7 score.

According to Nguyen, the game’s addictiveness is what convinced him to remove it. “Flappy Bird was designed to play in a few minutes when you are relaxed,” the developer said “But it happened to become an addictive product. I think it has become a problem. To solve that problem, it’s best to take down Flappy Bird."
