Default Feb. 2014 - The best security apps for Android

Immediately after "Flappy Bird" had disappeared from the Google Play Store, dubious providers abused the hype surrounding the popular Smartphone game, to spread malicious programs. On web sites outside of the official Android software shop infected copies of the app were/are offered. A popular method to spread viruses and trojans on Android mobile devices. The Security Institute AV-test has tested now 30 security apps to find out with which programs you can best protect your smartphone or tablet.

For this, the testers have collected for 4 weeks more than 2,000 contaminated apps and released them on the security programs. The protection apps by SPAMfighter and Zoner fell out completely. 14 other programs could ward off all attacks. And even better: most of them are available free of charge.

Following 10 Android security apps received from AV-test even for their protection as well as in the category of the full score usability:

Avira free Android security (free of charge)
McAfee antivirus & Security (free of charge)

I've got one called 'lookout' - seems to work ok.
When I was a kid, I used to have an imaginary friend. I thought he went everywhere with me. I could talk to him and he could hear me, and he could grant me wishes and stuff too. But then I grew up, and stopped going to church.
