reinstall windows with the 4 sticks in mate, if it doesn't fix your problem.
then update your bios and if still no, like z80 said get a new mobo. LOL

yeah thanks dude..but i aint reinstalling vista just yet.

I updated service pack 1 but no go.

How can i flash the bios using a cd?? i dont have a floppy drive.

Here is the common blue screen it gives, so it is definatly related to the ram or a conflicting driver..., maybe bios update is needed

    0x0000001A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT

This memory management error is usually hardware related. See the General Troubleshooting of STOP Messages checklist above. If this occurs while installing Windows, also check the Windows system requirements including the amount of RAM and disk space required to load the operating system. If none of the above resolves the problem, see the MSDN article linked above for further steps.

You can flash the bios thru windows, Gigabyte have a prgram called "@bios". You can get it from the same place where they have your new bios.

are you getting this blue screen only when you try to play a video or something, or just randomly?

Sounds like when everything starts to load into RAM on boot up it falls over.

I am not sure if it's the same with Gigabyte, but I have noticed on other Mobo's that when you install memory in all four slots at capacity, you need to bump up the RAM voltage in the Bios. DDR400 is normally 2.5v, bumped up to 2.7v accounts for the voltage drop when the other two slots are occupied. Like I said this has fixed a similar issue on an ASUS mobo, may or may not help you, also try updating your BIOS.

    ok ill try the voltage...

whats the best way to update bios without a floppy?? I cant use @bios and qflash only looks for a floppy

Would the PSU being 400w have enough grunt to run it?? maybe cause the extra 2x1gb sticks are draining too much and it makes a voltage drop so it blue screens?

hmm...thanks for that but it really didnt help me..lol...

I think illl get a bigger PSU..as i mentioned some people that had same problem fixed it with a 500w PSU as the 4x 1gb sticks dropped the voltage and made the PC reboot and BSOD...

You think it is a shot?

I did try limiting the ram on boot to 2048mb and it booted fine with 4 x 1gb sticks, showed up 4gb in control panel and didnt BSOD, system seemed a little slower tho....weird that it will boot with 4gb of ram limited to 2048 but as soon as i unlimit it ....BSOD!

ok, 550w PSU in, didnt BSOD so early but eventually did...it was the IRQL Not Equal... one this time..not getting the emmory manager one...

It runs fine with 4 gb ram in safe mode without a hitch!

Here is 4 of the BSOD I got:

This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced. 0x50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache, or video RAM).

This indicates that Microsoft Windows or a kernel-mode driver accessed paged memory at DISPATCH_LEVEL or above. Try starting windows in SAFE MODE and check the System Log in Event Viewer for error messages that might identify the device or driver that caused the error. Also try, disabling memory caching of the BIOS.

This indicates a problem occurred in ntfs.sys, the driver file that allows the system to read and write to NTFS drives. A possible cause is depletion of nonpaged pool memory. If the nonpaged pool memory is completely depleted, this error can stop the system. However, during the indexing process, if the amount of available nonpaged pool memory is very low, another kernel-mode driver requiring nonpaged pool memory can also trigger this error.

This indicates that a kernel-mode application generated an exception that the error handler did not catch. STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION indicates that a memory access violation occurred. Check for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.

Well all this narrows the problem down to either a Bios Update for your Mobo or faulty ram sticks.

Did you try using the 2 additional 512K RAM sticks on their own instead of the original two, to rule out any issues with the RAM sticks themselves?

I had a strange one the other day where it kept spitting the BSOD at me
with the new memory I end up putting a different video card and it was all happy
But the customer wanted to keep his video card as it was brand new and
opted for different brand memory and it was happy again go figure LOL
    Hope this helps
