well they say the quads aren't as sensitive at the duals. Not sure if it's true though. I might have a dual here if you still need one.

Looking into upgrading my Austar box to MyStarHD. To do this I will need to replace the LNB with at least a dual LNB. I can get a dual LNB for ~$50.00 and a quad for about $40.00. Since I only require two outputs, will not using the other outputs on a quad affect anything? Or am I best just getting the twin?

You will need to terminate the unused outputs with a 75 ohm resistor for the best result from a quad LNB.
It's not essential to do it though.
Personally, I have found the dual LNB's to perform better than a quad and if more than two connections are required, I add a multiswitch.
