Optus Aurora

Gday, can anyone tell me if you can still get the aurora channels. Was given an optus card some years back and could view win, imparja and 7central up til last year and I'm in Melb. Is there anyway I can still get these guys?

Yeah my card stopped in December. What about getting this Vast box and card?

If you still have the dish and the LNB was changed from 11.300 to 10.700 your in business depending on your location.

There are 2 ways to obtain VAST, one is to be in a NON Terrestrial TV area or as a 'Traveler'.

To check if you can get VAST authorised permanently, you need to check the myswitch.digitalready.gov.au and enter your full address but because of your query, either you dont watch much TV or you have recently moved to a non terrestrial area.
Today there are several manufactures of a VAST Approved STB which come complete with the SMART CARD that will ONLY work in the STB it comes with as a pair.
VAST is divided as Aurora was into East and West and will give you basically the same Commercial channels as available on a terrestrial service with the ABC and SBS in each time zone.

Note that neither your old Aurora card or the STB you used for Aurora can be used for VAST, you currently have no choice but to buy one of the 'Approved' stb's with the supplied card.

Thanks I still have dish here and lnb is 10700 going by settings but being in Melb will that pose as a problem with an approved vast stb?

Officially you cannot access VAST as you are covered by a Terrestrial service, HOWEVER they are ways and means, one of which is to apply as a 'Traveler' for a renewable 6 month permit, the others I will PM you about you agree.
