    Default Canon powershot A70

I have owed this digital camera for several years and recently it stopped taking pictures. When you try to take a pic now all it shows is purple blue lines in the lcd viewfinder and recorded image.
I googled the camera's known faults and this particular fault with my camera is a known canon manufacturing defect of the ccd unit.
Back in 2005 canon was offering a free of charge out of warranty repair for this defective ccd unit.
Does anyone here know if canon in Australia still offers this free repair.I am in Melbourne. If not, is it worth repairing.
    Cheers.

I have the same camera with the same sensor fault.Except the screen on mine is totally dead.I checked on the canon website and found a phone number.I rang the number and a recording told me that if I had a faulty A70 or similar camera to go to the website and fill out the form.I haven't done it yet.I should really get on to it.I really like the A70.
