Default Remote Control does not operate UltraPlus X-9200HD PVR

Remote Control does not operate UltraPlus X-9200HD PVR
I have checked and replaced the batteries in the UltraPlus remote control, the STB remote button lights up when I press any button, yes I did point the remote towards the UltraPlus STB but still the STB remains locked up, the remote control does not operate anything on the STB, the STB just stays locked up on one channel.
I do have a complete manual but there is nothing on to get the stalled box working, Switching power on/off or pulling or our pulling out the power card does not work either.
Does any have any suggestions to get my STB working?
Looking forward to a hopefully a fix.
    Thanks
    Drep

Have you checked that none of the buttons on the remote are stuck on.

Get your mobile camera or whatever, put it in video mode, point the remote at the camera, and see if a light continues to emit after you press buttons?

Worth a try at least to see if the remote is working correctly.

From the manual, try a reset from these....

factory set values in case the user has encountered
some problems after changing parameters in error.
Press the OK button to erase all services and restore
    default setting.
 Reset Configuration data : Maintain the
service data and reset the configuration data.
 Reset Service data : Maintain configuration
data and reset the service data.
 System restore to stored position : Restore the stored values including service data and system parameters. Press the OK button to restore all data.
 Store system data : If you want to use system parameters and service data in the future, this menu allows you to store current state. Press the OK button to store current state.
 Delete store position : Delete stored system data.

The remote seems ok, the STB button on the remote lights up. Can not do system restore as box is locked up, remote will not unlock it, any glues?
